What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to their failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order, including not paying $500 towards rent arrears by March 21, 2023 and not paying the lawful monthly rent by April 1, 2023.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 27, 2023. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $27,594.56, which includes the remaining rent arrears from the previous order, plus daily compensation for use of the unit after the order was issued. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by May 27, 2023, they will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
