What happened
The Landlord applied to evict the Tenant for significant rent arrears. The Tenant did not attend the hearing. The evidence showed the Tenant had only paid the first and last month's rent at the beginning of the tenancy and made no further payments, accumulating over $24,000 in arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant voids the order by paying the Landlord $24,417.50 by June 30, 2025, or $27,112.50 by July 11, 2025. If the Tenant fails to do so, they must vacate by July 11, 2025, and are ordered to pay the Landlord $21,260.59 plus daily compensation of $88.60 from June 27, 2025, until they move out.
