What happened

The Landlord filed an application to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to non-payment of rent. The Tenants were served with a valid N4 notice but did not void it by paying the outstanding arrears. The Tenants did not attend the scheduled videoconference hearing, which proceeded based solely on the Landlord's evidence.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenants pay $6,936.00 by June 27, 2025, to void the order. If the payment is not made, the Tenants must vacate the unit by that date. If the tenancy terminates, the Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $1,706.63, plus daily compensation of $110.22 from June 12, 2025, until they move out.
