What happened

The Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to significant rent arrears. Despite being properly served, the Tenant failed to attend the hearing. The LTB found that the Tenant had not paid rent as required and had previously failed to attend a motion hearing regarding a related L3 application.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 13, 2025, unless the Tenant pays $9,146.00 to void the order. If the Tenant does not pay, they must move out by May 13, 2025, and are ordered to pay the Landlords $8,228.60 plus daily compensation of $27.95 until they vacate.
