What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The Tenant failed to pay the full rent for January 2023 and the $15,000 towards rent arrears as required by the previous order.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 15, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $7,283.72, which includes rent arrears up to April 4, 2023 and the cost of the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $115.07 per day for use of the unit from April 5, 2023 until the Tenant vacates.
