What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent as per a previous LTB order. The Tenants failed to pay the lawful rent for March 2023 by the due date specified in the previous order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 9, 2023. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $22,611.76 (less any payments made after March 16, 2023) plus $64.11 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting April 29, 2023 until the Tenants move out. If the full amount is not paid by May 9, 2023, the Tenants will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
